Martine qualified with Coopers & Lybrand (C&L; now PwC), then went to C&L in Malawi for 3 years where she met husband Paul Ferguson, Associate, Martin Aitken & Co, who was on secondment at C&L Malawi from C&L London. Martine then went on to Zambia for 6 years where she worked for a small practice for around 3 years.

On returning from Zambia, Martine joined the Scottish Prison Service’s finance team, and following this, she joined Cheetham & Co as an Associate in 1998 where she headed up the management accounts, bookkeeping and payroll bureau department. Martine has significant experience in preparing management and year-end accounts, assisting various clients with the preparation of their management accounts and year-end procedures.

Martine enjoys assisting clients in accounting, planning and complying with their statutory and regulatory duties, as well as managing and training clients’ finance teams to use Sage.
